TCMB sector comparison

Where does the company stand in its sector?

Read company financial indicators alongside TCMB statistics for the same year, sector and appropriate size group. Clear charts and expert commentary explain the differences.

Interactive illustrative example · Not actual TCMB data

Sample context: 2024 · illustrative activity sector · medium size. Source: fictional demonstration data.

Collection period (days)

Company75 days

Sector median55 days

Sector middle range (25th–75th percentile)35–70 days

  • ● Blue dot: company
  • │ Line: sector median
  • ▰ Shaded range: middle half of the sector

Illustrative expert commentary: The collection period is 20 days longer than the sector median. This may increase working capital needs.

All figures in this example are fictional. An actual report identifies the financial year, activity sector (NACE), size group and TCMB source period. The median is the middle value; the middle range covers the middle half of companies. Higher is not always better.

Missing data or an unsuitable comparison group is disclosed, not plotted as zero. The middle range is used only where supported by source data.

Clear comparison

Company values, sector medians and the sector's middle range are shown together. The median is the middle value in the comparison group.

Transparent sources

The report states the data year, NACE sector, size group and source. Use of a broader comparison group is disclosed.

Comparable data

Available across all four services where suitable financials exist. Unavailable comparisons are disclosed for newly established businesses or those without sufficient financial history.

The comparison does not change the score, class or credit limit. It is prepared by RiskOpto using public sector data and is not TCMB approval of a company.

Process

From application to approved report

Your report is completed within 2 business days after data entry is complete.

Illustrative financial specialist reviewing documents

From data to expert insight

Your documents are reviewed together

Financial statements, declarations and relationship-specific requirements are considered together. A GRC specialist reviews inconsistencies and information gaps, requesting clarification or new documents where needed.

See review and revision steps →
  1. 1

    Application and scope

Your company specifies the service and purpose. GRC confirms the scope and first complimentary report entitlement in writing.

  2. 2

    Information and documents

Your company or the assessed business answers questions, uploads documents and completes data entry.

  3. 3

    Expert review

A GRC specialist reviews documents, requests revisions if needed and records the assessment rationale.

  4. 4

    Approved report

A separate approver checks the report. Your company receives it and makes the commercial decision.

Scope

You choose the scope of the review

The report states clearly what each piece of information is based on.

Declaration-based

Answers and explanations of the authorised person

Does not mean that the declarations have been independently verified.

Document-supported

Recommended

Answers plus the financial statements, bank and official documents requested within the scope

Submission of a document does not mean that it has been confirmed with an external source.

Verified (additional scope)

In addition to the document-supported scope, an agreed site visit or external source check

The report states which information was verified, against which source and on what date.

Result

The result is given through three indicators

The report is delivered to the applicant. In buyer-requested assessments, the supplier cannot access the report. A supplier applying for its own company receives the report and can share it with buyers.

Class

A · B · C · D

Tells you on what terms you can work together. If critical information is missing, no class is given: Incomplete due to missing information.

Information sufficiency

High · Medium · Low

Shows how much of the assessment rests on answers and documents. Gaps are not hidden; they are listed in the report.

Assessment areas

Strong · Adequate · Limited · Weak

The level of each dimension is shown separately, so strengths and issues to address are visible.

Principles

Why the report can be relied on

Expert review, four-eyes approval

A GRC expert justifies the score; the report is published only after a separate approver has checked it.

Gaps are not hidden

Unanswered questions and missing documents are shown clearly in information sufficiency and in the report.

A serious finding is not offset by the score

Findings such as negative equity, overdue public debt or an unexplained discrepancy cap the class.

A verifiable report

Every approved report carries a verification code, so the recipient can confirm it is authentic and current.

AI-assisted review, human decision

Uploaded documents go through an AI pre-review; inconsistencies and gaps reach the expert already flagged. Report texts are drafted with AI and checked by a second AI model. The score is calculated by a transparent, rule-based methodology; the expert justifies it and a separate approver signs off the report.

GRC Management expertise

RiskOpto draws on GRC Management's work in risk management, internal audit and finance. Prof. Dr. Davut Pehlivanlı's academic and practical experience informs the team's assessment approach. Each case is reviewed by an authorised specialist and a separate approver.

RiskOpto is the outcome of an R&D project supported by TÜBİTAK, the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye. This describes the platform's development history; individual reports are reviewed and approved by GRC Management.

Delivery, additional work and updates

Reports are completed within 2 business days after data entry is complete. Multiple-company delivery schedules are stated in the proposal. Site visits and paid external checks are excluded from the complimentary report; additional work and later updates start only after separate acceptance.

The agreed service and scope cover expert review, information sufficiency, findings and next steps. TCMB comparisons are provided where suitable financial data and a comparison group are available. If critical information is missing, the report clearly states that no class can be assigned.

Reassessment is generally recommended within a year; for higher-risk companies, use quarterly financials and a current commercial Findeks report. Review material changes sooner. Periodic reassessment does not mean continuous automated monitoring.
